My name is Zenzo Lot Masuku aged 49 years old. I am from Bulawayo.
QUESTION: Please share with us your political background, why you joined UZA and what role do you play in UZA?
I joined or got involved in active politics at a tender age of 15 years in 1988 soon after the Unity Accord of 1987 between ZAPU & ZANU PF. I held different positions at different levels in the then united ZANU PF till 2007 where I left with other like-minded and disgruntled colleagues to resuscitate ZAPU under the stewardship of Dumiso Dabengwa. Under ZAPU I served in the National Peoples Council(NPC) and contested as their MP candidate for Makokoba Constituency in the 2013 General Elections. After realising that our intention of bring the much needed change through ZAPU was hampered by lack of resources and the uneven playing political ground created by the ruling ZANU pf party I decided to take a sabbatical leave from active politics. Because the political DNA runs in my genes was now passively participating in politics as a critic and commentator. Analysing every new political party emerging dissecting their policies, ideology and how they are structured. Then came United Zimbabwe Alliance(UZA) which after going through their Ideology, Vision, Values, Mission and Priorities thus I fell for it though after some thorough convincing from patriot Mehluli Sibanda and our current Vice President Rev Frank Mhlanga.
Currently I am the UZA Bulawayo Metropolitan Provincial Chairman. As the Steward of the party in Bulawayo together with other patriots our major role is to push the UZA Mission, Vision and Priorities forward.
QUESTION: What makes UZA different from other political parties and why should Zimbabweans vote for UZA in the upcoming 2023 elections?
Besides UZA being unique and a true citizens engagement platform. UZA offers the Zimbabwean citizenry something Fresh, Genuine and Realistic. Therefore would like to call upon all sane Zimbabweans to vote UZA come 2023 as they will be voting for true peoples party governed by the people through consultations and engagements at various stages. As the current political situation requires the rise of a government with the people at heart, willing to bring all the people of Zimbabwe on board and build our country as we have a strong belief that the people have a vision and solutions as to how their country can be revived and built. Hence our slogan: "Let Us Unite as We Build Zimbabwe.
QUESTION: As we build Zimbabwe, what do you want to see UZA achieve?
As we build Zimbabwe I would like to see UZA achieving a strong and sustainable Socio-economic and Political growth inclusive of all Zimbabweans regardless of divergent political background and views. Would like to see UZA create a true democracy and constitutionalism.
QUESTION: What does 2023 elections mean for Zimbabwe and what message do you have for Zimbabweans with respect to coming elections?
2023 is our turning point as Zimbabwe. As a young generation and future of tomorrow, this is our chance to voice out issues that matters and work in building a new Zimbabwe with UZA government. My message to Zimbabweans is that, the real change is here and the real change is UZA. We have to put our faith in UZA. Let's make sure we build for our future, as you youths we should not be used for political violence but we have to preach peace during this election period. More importantly this is our chance to rebuild Zimbabwe and let's register to vote and make sure we build the great Zimbabwe we all want.
