  • Office of the President

From President Valerio: 4 Nov 2021

Highlights:
• Meet the President events held in 8 provinces
• Constituencies and Ward Structures forming at home and abroad

Over the past weeks I have been privileged to engage communities in Manicaland, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland West, Harare, Midlands, Bulawayo and Matabeleland South.  I have shared with you my story – and the story of a mother who planted within me a seed – a desire to build a country where each of us can achieve our individual dreams, but still come together as one Zimbabwe.

For three months as I toured Zimbabwe I have heard from ordinary men and women, youth - farmers, miners, teachers, nurses and vendors – who found the courage to show up and dream of a better Zimbabwe again. We have met at a defining time in our nation’s history – a time when our economy is in turmoil and Zimbabweans are working hard to stay afloat. Many of you do not know what it means to be gainfully employed and some of you continue to watch your wage values plummet. Many of you have children you can’t afford to nurture and feed properly, and for many of you, basic goods and services like fuel, utilities, medical care or descent education are beyond reach. Zimbabwe, we are a better country than this – we are a better people! Let’s unite now and build towards something better.

Let’s all do our part to build a new UZA government guided by the principles of democracy, inclusion and citizen engagement. Within and outside our borders, UZA Wards and Constituencies are forming. Meetings are being held and Patriots are taking an active role in supporting and strengthening local UZA structures.  If there isn’t a structure in your area, then it is up to you to ensure that people know about UZA.  Plan door-to-door campaigns from where you are and actively participate to help form your Ward.

Regalia distribution begins in all provinces from the 8th of November 2021. Our teams will work as quickly as possible to distribute flyers and regalia for UZA members. If you are not yet a UZA member, make sure you formalise your membership and become a fully subscribed and inducted UZA member. We will soon launch online member enrollment options.  All members receive membership cards.

Looking ahead, our “Meet the President” tour will focus on Masvingo and Matabeleland North. As you know these two provinces are my home provinces. I also will be taking time this month to prepare for the roll out of a new project for economic development and job creation. You will be the first to hear directly from me about how this project will advance our nation.

Now is the time to choose the future you want!  Let’s work, let’s build - let’s unite Zimbabwe.
